The Backpacker Flute is made from eastern, white cedar which is a very soft wood and therefore gives a softer more mellow tone. Also, the sound mechanism is "woodland's style," as taught to Dennis by his mentor, Louis Webster and adds to the sweetness of the sound. The backpacker flute does not have a totem, making it lighter and easier to carry. The mellow tone of the backpacker flute makes it an excellent choice for personal meditation or on your next backpacking nature.
